Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
Since I no longer live at home, this year's Easter celebrations were different than previous years.
#1. No church-going in the city.
#2. No Easter candy and/or baskets. I could have purchased them on my own, but that means that I would have eaten them, too. And summer will be here soon.
#3. Easter Brunch is very different in NY. Since NYers are obsessed with brunch as it is, several restaurants already have established brunch menus. But Easter just gives them an excuse to charge $55 for a prix-fixe menu. Instead, Luke and I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Bread Tribeca, where I ate a yummy frittata with spinach and goat cheese. Not a brunch buffet by any means, but better for the hips and thighs :)
Now I'm spending my Easter afternoon watching basketball. Oh this is the life.

Just to prove that I know how to cook...

This weekend I made chocolate chip pancakes with cinnamon cream. Absolutely amazing. Thank you, Paula Deen.

The Week of Sightings!

First I saw Claudia Schiffer on Saturday. Then, on Monday, I saw Brooke Shields, Seth Meyers, and Dave Letterman. Now, today, I met John Lithgow (of Shrek and 3rd Rock from the Sun fame). He's in the new movie, Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is filming right now. He also happens to be a children's book author (published by S&S) and asked if we could bring some of his books over so that he could sign them for his costars who have children. I scurried over to the Essex Hotel and dropped them off with Mr. Lithgow himself. So nice! Unfortunately, I didn't see Isla Fischer, but I did see the Grand Ballroom where they were filming. Can't wait to see the movie!

A Little Dave Letterman for Ye St. Patrick's Day

Jake and I scored tickets to see Dave Letterman last night and it was a blast! We were about ten rows back in the center (great seats!). Dave comes out before the show starts and does a little material. Such a natural. The guests were Brooke Shields (gorgeous) and Seth Meyers (hilarious). Watch on Wednesday and when they pan the audience during the commercial break, look for blue sleeves in the center.

My, my

Well, before I hit the six-months-and-no-blogging mark, I figured it was time to update. Since I got the job at Simon & Schuster in October, life has been a little bit busier and more structured...which is good.

Stay tuned!
